Jericho Resurected
-Posted by: Quivi
According to ipodobserver.com, CBS had planned to cancel Jericho after just one season, but fans wouldn't stand for it. In the show's season finale, which was to be the real end of the show, one of the characters, in response to an offer of surrender, said, "Nuts." Fans of Jericho used it as a battle cry and literally sent over 5000 pounds of peanuts to the executive offices of CBS. The execs got the message and a new season of Jericho was hurriedly created.
In case you'd like to know what the commotion over Jericho is all about, you can find the pilot episode free at the iTunes Store. I've watched several episodes of Jericho and I liked what I saw. Good acting and a good story that doesn't deal with doctors or courtrooms are hard to find these days, has both. Check out the and see what you've been missing.

The 9 p.m. showing of "Jericho" earned a 2.4 rating/6 share, according to Fast Nationals from Nielsen Media Research, finishing behind "Smackdown!" on The CW and a rerun of "Las Vegas" on NBC. Both shows also finished below a 3.0 rating, with "Smackdown" coming closest with a 2.9/6 while "Las Vegas" had a 2.8/6. ... Read More ...

A Visit to the Town of Jericho
-Posted by: Quivi
CBS' fall line-up includes the new drama "Jericho," from executive producers Jon Turteltaub (National Treasure), Stephen Chbosky (Rent) and Carol Barbee ("Judging Amy"). The series is about what happens when a nuclear mushroom cloud suddenly appears on the horizon, plunging the residents of a small, peaceful Kansas town into chaos, leaving them completely isolated and wondering if they're the only Americans left alive. Fear of the unknown propels Jericho into social, psychological and physical mayhem when all communication and power is shut down.
The town starts to come apart at the seams as terror, anger and confusion bring out the very worst in some residents. But in this time of crisis, as sensible people become paranoid, personal agendas take over and well-kept secrets threaten to be revealed, some people will find an inner strength they never knew they had and the most unlikely heroes will emerge. Skeet Ulrich, Gerald McRaney, Pamela Reed, Lennie James, Michael Gaston, Kenneth Mitchell, Sprague Grayden, Erik Knudsen and Ashley Scott star. ... Read More ...

Must-See TV
-Posted by: Quivi
As anyone smote by God will tell you, there's nothing as enriching for the soul as having your nose broken by the hammer of Thor.
Or something like that.
Mixed metaphors and religious mythologies aside, few things breed as much creativity and invention as abject, stomach-knotting, awake-at-night desperation -- the kind experienced by any TV network executive who has ever dwelled in the ratings basement. ... Read More ...
